Catalysing Change Through Hyper‑Local Crisis Response
Resilio Fund is transforming how the world responds to crises by centring local communities — the true first and best responders in times of disaster.
A collaborative philanthropic initiative to change how the world responds to crises.
Resilio Fund is transforming how the world responds to crises by centring local communities, the true first and best responders in times of disaster. International humanitarian aid systems can be too slow and inefficient, risk creating dependency, rarely reduce vulnerability to future crises, and undermine affected people’s own agency and dignity.
“We feel in charge of our own interventions; it always feels good.”
—Community member, Philippines 2018
Our Approach
At the heart of this approach is the recognition that in every country, in every culture, and in every type of crisis, the community is always the first to respond.
The Problem:![]()
Current humanitarian aid is slow, inefficient, and fosters dependency, failing to empower crisis-affected communities. Nearly 70% of recipients lack control over recovery, with only 1.2% of funding directly reaching local groups.
Our Solution:![]()
Resilio supports community-led responses, offering rapid, accurate, dignified relief. We use microgrants to quickly reach local groups, enabling immediate aid and fostering long-term resilience.
“Humanitarians have failed to deliver on the most basic of humanitarian endeavours: to put people at the centre of what they do.”
—ODI Humanitarian Policy Group, May 24, 2021
Our Model:
IGNITE
Support community-led response in countries where it is not funded.
INVEST
Strengthen existing community-led networks for broader impact.
INFLUENCE
Drive country-wide and sector-wide adoption through advocacy and evidence sharing.
